Like all Millennials, Participation Award Winner Jamie Gia is an over-educated, underachiever. Not good with others, Jamie is a loop performer and one woman band. Evidence exists supporting the theory that she may bite, however the significance of these findings may be artificially inflated due to small sample size.

Jamie Gia is a Canadian solo-loop performer. Her music draws its influence from indie, alternative, lo-fi, garage, surf and stoner rock. Jamie's debut EP Nope, was nominated for Best Album by the Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards 2017. Jamie's music was also featured in the film, Ashley (starring Nicole Fox, Mike Madsen and Jennifer Taylor), which was awarded best LGBT feature by Atlantic City Cinefest.

Jamie released her sophomore EP, entitled Yaay! with Rocky Dean Records in September 2017. Yaay is a collection of trancy songs ideal for cruising, shmoozing, and boozing. Guaranteed greasy goodness.

Over the last few years, Jamie has performed alongside acts such as PUP, Fast Romantics, DIANA, The Fleshtones, Seas, Deerhoof, Pkew Pkew Pkew, John Wozniak (of Marcy Playground), Craig Cardiff, and more. Her performance style has been liken to that of Tash Sultana, as she lays tracks down live, one at a time.

She has made live appearances on CBC radio and CKCU Ottawa, and has performed across the country at a number of notable festivals including: CMW, NXNE, Indie Week, International Pop Overthrow, Hamilton Supercrawl and Up Here Music and Film Fest.
